He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Dow and Edith Mae Vansandt (Weaver); his former wife Ivy Vansandt; his wife Linda Vansandt; his sisters, Lou Relda Carter and Vivian Dorsett; and his stepgrandson Andrew Caraway.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jane Sommers (Michael) and Marcy Vansandt; his stepchildren, Wendy Price (Brad) and Jeremy Grimm (Shera); and his siblings, Shorty Vansandt, Beverly Page and Edith Mae Henley. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
