He was predeceased by: his parents, Marius Sorensen and Jenny Sorensen. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Rowe; his children, Susan Behler, Jennifer Chapin (Alan), Paula Erickson (Jason) and Peter Sorensen (Swetlana); his grandchildren, Brianna Thompson, Ivy Chapin, Sydney Weaver (Ryan), Derrik Behler, Ian Chapin, Ariel Fisher, Kai Chapin, Carter Behler, Alexis Erickson, Jeremy Behler, Sam Klein, Zachary Erickson, Justus Behler and Luna Sorensen; his great grandchildren, Priya Jones, Clover Jones, Lane Thompson, Isaac Behler, Grace Thompson, Joni Fisher, Eliza Behler, Maysilee Fisher and Smith Weaver; and his brother Soren Sorensen (Donna) of Omaha. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mark's United Methodist Church (603 N Jennings Rd, Independence, MO 64056). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Mark's UMC food pantry in his memory.
