He is survived by: his wife Maureen; his children, Michael of Independence, Mark of Independence and Matthew (Lilliana) of Independence; his grandchildren, Brian (Matilda) of Kansas City and Brett of Independence; his nephews, Andris (Stephanie) and Kire of Des Moines; his niece Maiga; and also, Erik (Rita) and Stefan (Jill) of Des Moines.
