It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn (Barber) Scott (Independence, Missouri), who passed away on October 17, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Verne R. Barber and Myrtle A. Barber (Peterson); her daughter Saundra Kay Carpenter; and her sister Marlene Folsom. She is survived by: her sister Phyllis Walters of Keats, Kansas; her son Michael D. Scott (Theresa); her son-in-law James C. Carpenter of Kansas City, Missouri; her granddaughters, Keighly Hahn (Kevin) of Excelsior Springs, Kelsey Carpenter of Lawson, Kendyl Forsner (Corey) of Richmond and Kaylen Pigg (Aaron) of Orrick, Missouri; her great grandchildren, Karleigh, Kyler, Kroy Hahn, Triton Carpenter and Rylan Kay Forsner; and her husband Vern. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Of Memphis, Tennessee in lieu of flowers.
