It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lola Jane Smith of Independence, Missouri, born in Weston, Missouri, who passed away on October 25, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louie and Mary E. Nation (Blakley); her siblings, George Nation (Barbara), Lillie Holst (Dewey) and Augusta Morris (Harold); and her son-in-law Brendan Miley.
She is survived by: her significant other Hollis Smith; her children, Gene Smith (Sandy) of Fayette, MO and Linda Miley of Independence, MO; and her grandchildren, David Miley (Cody), Jonathan Miley (Crystal), Joshua Miley, Douglas Smith (Emily) and Trisha Lewis (Randy). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
