It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Judith Kay Smith of Independence, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ora King and Opal Lucille Tabor (Burris); and her sisters, Jonell Francis and Jackie Holmes. She is survived by: her children, Teresa Smith (Kent Schall) of Lee's Summit, MO and Kevin Smith of Independence, MO; her grandchildren, Luke Frampton of Independence, MO, Grant Frampton of Independence, MO and Paige Frampton of Lee's Summit, MO; her niece Kathy Pietoso (Josef Scherer); her nephews, Mike Francis (Karlynn) of Raytown, MO, Keith Holmes (Jan) of Atlanta, GA, Geary Francis of Clinton, MO and Shawn Francis (Lesa) of Atlanta, GA; and her former husband Cloine Smith of Warrensburg, MO. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Beacon of Hope Hospice.
