She was predeceased by: her grandmother Josephine (Lord); and her parents, Joseph Patton and Margaret Rose Patton. She is survived by: her husband Clyde Sweeden; her great grandchildren, Landon and Joshua; her granddaughter Michelle; her sisters, Elizabeth and Dolly; and her close friend Betty Henley. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Speaks Funeral Home (1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64052). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Brooking Cemetery (10004 E 53rd St, Raytown, MO 64133).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made "In Memory of Josephine Sweeden" to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
