It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Smith (Independence, Missouri), born in New Franklin, Missouri, who passed away on May 25, 2018, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Frank; and her siblings, Zelda Canole and Jesse Hendrix. She is survived by: her parents, Frank Hendrix and Arlie Hendrix (Quinley); her sons, Dennis Smith of Independence, MO and Mike Smith (Laura) of Warrensburg; her siblings, Betty Jo Elder of New Franklin, MO, Fay Kempf of Boonville, MO, Carol Andrews of Newport News, VA, Kathryn Andrews of New Franklin, MO, Lloyd Hendrix (Geneva) of New Franklin, MO and Bill Hendrix (Alice) of New Franklin, MO; and her grandchildren, Doug Smith of Warrensburg, Nick Smith (Rena) of Warrensburg, Jacob Smith (Kim) of Warrensburg, Erin Smith of Independence, MO, Addie Smith of Independence, MO and Christine Sutherland of Weatherford, TX. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend.
