With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Geraldine Sykes of Independence, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 27, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Stretch and Dora Stretch (Dryer); her husband John Sykes; her sisters, Helen, Doris, Bonnie, Hope and Peggy; and her granddaughter Breeona Gilbert.
She is survived by: her daughter Connie Mills (Lee) of Independence, MO; her stepson Mike Sykes (Nancy) of Lee's Summit, MO; her sister Vivian Jones of Lawson, MO; and her grandchildren, Lisa Mills of Blue Springs, MO, Brian Mills (Heather) of Lee's Summit, MO, Joshua Mills, Erica Hahn of Independence, MO and Kevin Sykes of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Old Scotland Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
