She is survived by: her spouse Glade Larson; her daughters, Maria Larson, Marla Sua and Monica Larson; and her siblings, Linda Newman, Mark Nielsen, Joel Nielsen and Jeff Nielsen. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Gayle Verlyn Nielsen died on April 12, 2025 in Independence, Missouri just before her 83rd birthday after living with Alzheimer's for many years.
