He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Emmett Dempsey and Flora Dempsey (Blackburn); his brothers, Emmett, Cecil, Devon, Wilburn, Wallace and Sam Dempsey; and his siblings-in-law, Jack Hillis, Bill Estes, Polly Dempsey and Hannelore Dempsey.
He is survived by: his brother Doyle Dempsey of Independence.
