She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Francis and Mary Louisa Shumate (Smith); and her siblings, Lawrence Shumate, Robert Shumate, Earl Shumate (Linda) and Mary Ann Clark.
She is survived by: her friend Thomas "Tom" D. Overfelt; and her children, Thomas F. Overfelt (Sharon), Laura E. Harding (David), David R. Overfelt (Pam) and Carol Elizabeth Overfelt-Sours (John). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a large "adopted" family of friends.
