She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Burns and Vera Burns; her brother-in-law Larry Stapleton; and her nephew Jamie Stapleton. She is survived by: her husband Mervin W. Cary of Independence, MO; her children, Michael Jones (Kimberly) of Harrisonville, MO, Tina Bigalk (Hugh) of Goodyear, AZ and Craig Cary of Harrisonville, MO; her brother Carl "Duane" Burns (Samantha) of Independence, MO; her grandchildren, Benton Jones, Rachael Caylor (Michael), Emily Trager, Aaron Trager and Curtis Bigalk; her great grandchildren, Chase, Mira, Gabby and Aiden; and also Kathy Stapleton of Buckner, MO.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke's Hospice House for a memorial brick made in Carol's memory.
