He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy True and Bethel True; his wife Macelia "Macy" Breithaupt True; and his siblings, Roy and Chrystal Melton.
He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn Alford; his siblings, Avaline Harris and Bertram; his daughters, Danika True (Tina) and Sarah True-Mulligan (Frank); his grandchildren, Claire Rose Mulligan and James Francis Mulligan; and his caregiver Lori Luke. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
