He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernis Hess and Ruby Hess (Pogue); his wife Judy Robinson; and his siblings, Johnnie Hess, Carolyn Thompson and Juanita Hess.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Brown (Grant Garrod) of Columbia, MO; his grandsons, Michael Brown of Columbia, MO, Nathan Brown of Jacksonville, MO and Jay Hess of Columbia, MO; and his sister Rhoda Twyman (Leroy) of Huntsville, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
