As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward William and Grace Violet Godat (Denny); his sisters, Joann Walls, Eunice Hiedeman and Mauren Bartlett; his brother-in-law Loren Freeze; and his nephew James "Ed" Edward Taylor.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy Godat; his children, Tracey Godat, Melanie Godat (Timothy Mynatt) and Aaron Godat (Laura); and his sister Carolyn Freeze. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
