He was predeceased by: his father Charles Nichols; his siblings, Ronald Sybrant and Pat Clinkenbeard; and his stepdaughters, Ronni Blackerby and Bobbi Bosley.
He is survived by: his wife Penny Shaw; his children, Char Klein (Curt Martin) of Moberly and Charles Nichols (Heather Bennet) of Marshall; his sister Charlotte Clark (Gary) of Green Top; and his grandchildren, Seth Cooper, William Wirtz, Colton Bosley, Jacqueline Klein, Levi Klein and Patience Nichols. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
