He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fred (Jack) and Bettye Jane Hayes (Haney); his brother Bruce Hayes; his nephew Bobby Hayes; and his grandparents, Herman, Etta Hayes, Ola Haney Baker (Upton) and E. J. Haney.
He is survived by: his friends, Vance, Helen Hutsell, Albert Foxworthy, Johnnie Jordan, Jerry Bay, Dean Wilson, Rick, Bruce Cantrell, Steve Hurt and Richard Hayes; his siblings, Jerri Foxworthy (Larry), Larry Hayes (Bonnie), Roger Hayes (Nancy) and Judy Smith (Bruce); and his nieces and nephews, Ron Foxworthy, Debbie Booker, Cindy Stafford (Brad), Roger Lee Hayes (Gail), Stan Smith, Jamie Hayes (Billie), Jason Smith (Patty), Amber Meadows (Derek) and Karri Keller (Kaven).
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations in Joe's honor be made to the Ellis Prairie Cemetery.
