He was predeceased by: his parents, James Herndon and Sylvia Herndon; his sister Shirley Wenger; and his siblings-in-law, Herbert Wenger, Harold Palmer, Joe, Gib, Claude Powell and Violet Herndon.
He is survived by: his wife Viola Powell; his children, Kathye Hyde, Sharon Boehme (Scott), David (JoAnne), Tommy (Marsha) and Billy (Kim); and his brother Chester Herndon. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Jessie's memory may be made to Ozark Cemetery or the Texas County Gideons.
