He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wilson and Eva Wilson (Alms); and his siblings, Junior, Maxine and Sam.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Imogene; his children, Greg and Jennifer (Brian Heriford) of Belleville; and his grandsons, Bruce and Austin Lee Heriford (Mackenzie Heriford). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the First Baptist Church of Houston; or Bado Cemetery in memory of Bruce.
