He is survived by: his son Denny; his wife Linda Gail Harris; his siblings, Phyllis O'Brien and Donald Hughes; his children, Nick Hughes (Erin), James Hughes (Sara), Tracy Ortmeyer (Jeff) and Doug Hughes (Blaire); and his grandchildren, Abigail, Riley, Mackenzie, Michael, Josie, Preston, Logan, Henry, Gordon, Ruby and Lucy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
