He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow P. Benson and Mabelle E. Huff; his former wife Betty L. Bowman; his stepdaughter Deana Ross; and his siblings, James Sonny Benson and Ruthie Jean Brown (Benson).
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Benson of Holden, MO; his children, Aaron Wayne Benson of Holden, MO, Scott Eugene Benson of Holden, MO and Shannon Renee Benson of Holden, MO; his stepsons, Rick Ross of Holden, MO, Ken Ross (Kim) of Strasburg, MO and Brian Ross of Holden, MO; his brothers, Denton Benson (Darlene) of Holden, MO and Perry Benson of Indianapolis, IN; his great grandchild Landen; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Amara. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren.
