He was predeceased by: his son Mikel Burton; and his siblings, Phillip Jr, Harry Jr, Clyde Jr, Melba and Betty.

He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Burton (Michelle) of Holt, Brenda Newell, Baldwin and Jannett Miller (Kevin Kingsville); and his sisters, Karen Cofran, Olathe and Nan Hale McPherson. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
