Betty Currie Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Currie of Holden, Missouri, born in Independence, Missouri, who passed away on August 30, 2020 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Currie to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Elmer Barr Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Hiatt; her husband Oren J. Currie; her siblings, William Elmer Barr Jr. and Mary Frances Barr; and her granddaughter Rachael Daneene Houx.

She is survived by: her daughters, Glenda Ann Chiles (Ronald) of Kansas City, MO, Janet Sue Houx (Guy) of Holden, MO and Sharron Lea Pierson (Lennard) of Dallas, TX; and her nephews, Wayne Lee Currie (Thea) of Woodbridge, VA and Jerry Allen Barr of Peculiar, MO. She is also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m., Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Holden First Baptist Church in Holden, MO (601 S. Market, Holden, MO). (The Family respectfully requests that everyone in attendance please practice Social Distancing and wear a mask).

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Holden First Baptist Church.
