He was predeceased by: his mother Laverne Dyson; his stepfather William Dyson (Bill); his brother William Dyson (Billy); his cousin John Layton; and his in-laws, Melba and Charlie Baker.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Nelson; his children, Timothy Nelson and Amy Michelle Windhauser; his grandchildren, Kaitlynn Nelson, Matthew Windhauser and Ryan Windhauser; his children-in-law, Robyn Nelson and Tom Windhauser; and his siblings, Bobby Dyson (Leah), Pammy Maesson (late Stew) and Deborah McCance.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel Hill Mortuary (6300 State Rte 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2400 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
