He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Burgess and Amelia Burgess; and his sister Mary Kay Courtway. He is survived by: his wife Melody Burgess; his son McKain Burgess (Tina) of O' Fallon, MO; his brothers, Robert Burgess (Deborah) of Flint Hill, MO and Delmar Lewis (Patricia) of O' Fallon, MO; and his grandchildren, Faith, Kane and Aria.

In honor of Michael, donations may be made to: Diabetes Association or Wounded Warriors.
