It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Hitt of Higginsville, Missouri, born in Marshall, Missouri, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Griffit and Mary Griffit (Dollard); and her husband Robert Ray Hitt. She is survived by: her children, Mary Ruth Harp (Dan) of Higginsville, Gordon Hitt (Patti) of Mayview, MO and Ronald Hitt (Jane) of Desloge, MO; her brother Jim Griffit of Warrensburg, MO; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas (Hollis Gemes) of Warrensburg, Jessica Johnson (Chris) of Higginsville, Morgan Fitzwater (Tommy) of Higginsville, Hayden Hitt of Higginsville, Cory Harp (Stephanie) of Clinton, MO, Ashley Smith (Terry) of Amity, MO and Caleb Ireland of Gallatin, MO; her great grandchildren, Catherine Mary Gemes, Matthew Gemes, Daniel Gemes, Cheyenne Brown, Mathias Johnson, Langston Johnson, Andrew Harp, Max Harp, Emma Harp, Levy Smith and Jayce Smith; and her aunt Peg Crawford of Raymore, MO..
