He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Hayes and Myra Hayes (Settle); his wife Kathryn; and his siblings, Joe Hayes, Leroy Hayes, Virginia Arth and Betty Jenkins.
He is survived by: his children, David Hayes (Patricia) of Higginsville and Kathy Rankin (Rick) of Corder, MO; his grandchildren, Kelly K. Fox (Paul) of Pleasant Hill, Patrick Neal (Amy) of Kansas City, Billy Wilson (Kristy) of Richmond, Jeremy J. Hayes (Cassie) of Richmond, Zac E. Hayes (Hope) of Higginsville and Marcus L. Hayes of Higginsville; his great grandchildren, Charles, Matthew Fox, Hannah Hayes, Sadie Neal, Haylee, Heather and Maddox Hayes; and his sisters-in-law, Betty J. Hayes, Mary Ann Mais and Leona Darnell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Missouri Veterans Home - Warrensburg.
