He is survived by: his sons, Greg Short (Julie) of Higginsville, Tim Short (Charlene) of Higginsville and Doug Short (Tiffany) of Independence, MO; his siblings, Henry Short (Lee), Diane Payne (Bob) and Sylvia Williams (Jim); his grandchildren, Brandy Kinne, Greighton Short (Tabitha), Megan Leap (Brodie), Brandi Lile (Joey), Matt Long, Michael Short, Katelyn Brackman (Cole), Zachary Short (Jamie) and Sarah Short; and his great grandchildren, Memphis Kinne, Gabriel Short, Kennedy Short, Regan Wood, Owen Wood, Adeline Leap, Dayton Swearngin, Miles Swearngin, Lainey Lile, Noelle Long and Colson Brackman.
