He was predeceased by: his parents, John T. Hurd and May Kindle Hurd of Tennessee; and his brothers, Harold, Carroll, Melvin and John W. Hurd.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Owsley; his daughter Paula Robinson (Marty) of Odessa, MO; his grandchildren, Taylor Robinson (Christina) of Marshall and Carlee Robinson of Kansas City, MO; his great grandchildren, Bryson and Walker Robinson; and his sister-in-law Nadine Hurd of Billings, MT. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Mission Department in Higginsville or Sweet Springs American Legion Post 279 in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
