He was predeceased by: his parents, David Thomas Hockensmith and LaVerna Hockensmith (Clouse). He is survived by: his former spouse Sandy Terry; his daughter Sarah Lewis (Jeremy) of Lee's Summit, MO; his close friend Cindy Gassen of Higginsville; his granddaughters, Madison Lewis of Lee's Summit and Emma Parmenter of Lee's Summit; his sisters, Darlane Wonderly (Steve) of Paola, KS and Jan Bergsieker (Wayne) of Blue Springs, MO; his aunt Ruby Preston of Cheyenne, WY; and his pets, Daisy, Thor, Buddy and Gizzy. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made out to the family and will be distributed in accordance to Dave's wishes.
