He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard "Dick" Goettling and Dorothy Goettling (Thompson). He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his sons, Mike Goettling (Mary Jo) of Blue Springs, MO and John Goettling of Independence, MO; his brother Deryl Goettling of Kansas City, MO; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Goettling (Bethany), Carter Goettling, Lacy Goettling and Coy Goettling.

Memorial contributions may be made out to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
