He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie B. Crabtree and Mary E. Whitworth Crabtree; his former wife Genevieve M. Stratman; his wife Betty Jackson; his son Bruce R. Crabtree; and his siblings, Vernon "Bud" Crabtree and Helen L. Jackson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindi Loethen (Greg) of Prairie Village and Sue Cox (Bob) of Clinton, Missouri; and his daughter-in-law Jeanine Crabtree. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
