He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Walter of Washington and Marie Cecilia Bange; and his siblings, Charles Walter, Mary Walter, Leta Purdy and Viann Traver.

He is survived by: his wife Ina "Louise" Walter of Higbee; his children, Michael William Walter of Higbee and Christina Louise Nauerth (Larry Wayne) of Higbee; his grandchildren, William Garrett Nauerth (Raina Jones) of Higbee, Bailey Scott Nauerth (Maddy Holt) of Higbee, Tanner Lee Walter (Sabrina Huddleston) of Higbee and Brett Michael Nauerth of Higbee; his siblings, Mildred Walter of Moberly, Jim Walter (Marilyn) of Clarence, Gary Walter of Cairo, Donna Walter of Moberly and Harold Walter (Elizabeth) of Jacksonville; his siblings-in-law, Connie Walter of Jacksonville and Orville Purdy of Madison; and his pet Fluffy. He is also survived by extended family, many close friends.
