He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Pottebaum and Lorene Pottebaum; his parents-in-law, Bill and Colleen Purdy; his brothers, George and Leo Pottebaum (Audrey); his son Larry Joe Pottebaum; and his son-in-law Russell Maddox.
He is survived by: his wife Madge; his children, Verna Fleetwood of Glasgow, MO, Karen Fuemmeler (Harold) of Huntsville, MO, Jane Clark (Rob) of Higbee, MO, Angela Maddox (Jimmy Dennis) of Glasgow, MO, Amy Switzer (Ricky) of Higbee, MO and Michael Pottebaum of Higbee, MO; his daughter-in-law Lucy Gertz of Boston, MA.; his brother Jake Pottebaum (Wanda) of Washington, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia Pottebaum of Mexico, MO and Mike Purdy (Debbie) of Sandia, TX.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
