Ervin McAllen Wells Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ervin Wells (Fayette, Missouri), who passed away on December 8, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends.
Ervin was born January 4, 1942, the oldest child of Joseph Wells and Osa (Osie Stone) Wells. He had one sister, Becca Jo (Wells) Garvin. Ervin spent most of his life as a logger and owned WellsWood Log and Lumber. His business took him all over mid-Missouri.
Ervin had nine children and many bonus children. Helen (Winky) Jones of Lisbon, Robert of Franklin, Barbara of New Franklin, Anthony of Fayette, Rhonda, Robin of Ashland, Ervin Jr. (J.R.), Rebecca of Vandalia, and Josie of Boonville.
Ervin married Donna Hiatt on July 26, 1987 and they were married for 35 years, until his passing. They had one child together, Josie. Ervin and Donna adopted their two grandsons, Aaron and Alex after the passing of their father, J.R. and raised them as their own.
Ervin attended Fayette Assembly of God until its closing and then attended River of Life Assembly of God in Boonville until his passing. He taught many years as the Sunday School teacher and served multiple terms on the board. Logging was his business, but telling others about Jesus was his mission and he spent the last thirty plus years of his life traveling to churches, preaching and singing his original songs.
Ervin didn’t know as stranger, and if you were a stranger, you weren’t one for long. Ervin was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back, a roof over your head and a place for dinner at the family table. His heartfelt disposition and quick witted humor will be dearly missed.
Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ervin Wells to pay them a last tribute.
