He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar McCool and Lena McCool (Kepley); his wife Sandra Murphy-McCool; his son Thomas McCool; his stepson Michael Podshadley; his grandson Jonas Schardan; and his brother David McCool.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Davis (Todd) of Washington, Missouri, Darcy Nachtmann of Hermann, Missouri, Molly McCool of Hermann, Missouri and Kelly Brian McCool of Taswell, Indiana; and his siblings, Gary, Jon, Robert McCool and Donna Hern. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
