She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil James and Hazel James (Crabtree); her husband Howard J. Oetterer; her son Randy Oetterer; and her siblings, Roy James, Frieda Clark and Wanda Louise James.

She is survived by: her son Lester Oetterer of Hermann, Missouri; and her siblings, Cathleen Hoffman of Washington, Missouri, Nellie Woolsy of Fulton, Missouri and Rabin James of Mountain View, Missouri..
