He is survived by: his wife Hattie Thomas (Hattie); his children, Jerry (Wanda), Katherine (Willard), Lindell (James), Hattie Faye and Angela; his children-in-law, Andy Jumper and Norma Thomas; and his grandchildren, Sam Jr., Sean, Deon, Ryan, Brandon, Derrick, Kenneth, Dustin, David, Monica, Brandy, Lynn, Brittany and Blair.
