He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Simmons and Donna Rene Simmons (Nolen); his parents-in-law, Robert and Marjory Penman; his close friend Ronnie Underwood; and his siblings-in-law, Al Cummings, Kim Simmons and Donna Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Simmons (Penman) of Portageville, MO; his children, Joseph R. Simmons of Portageville, MO and Tara Conaway (Matthew) of Springfield, MO; his grandchildren, Kolbe Max and Tucker Matthew Conaway of Springfield, MO; and his siblings, Ronnie Simmons of Portageville, MO and Carla Cummings of Portageville, MO. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
