He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Hanner and Dona Hanner; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Briney and Larry Maple. He is survived by: his children, Melvin Robert Hanner Jr. of Harviell, Rodney Franklin Hanner (Hot Rod), Robin Lynn Burgess (Jeff) of Harviell and Renee Fisher (Dean); and his sisters, Brenda Briney of Harviell, Marlene Maple of Poplar Bluff and Debra Howrey (Donald) of Harviell. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kinsey Cemetery.
