He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Spencer and Betty "Wilson" Spencer; his siblings, Carolyn Daves, Mary Brooks, Bill Spencer, Don Spencer, Melvin Spencer and Elvin Spencer; his niece Patty Wilson; and his great-nephew Brent Cooper.

He is survived by: his sister Jewell Birdsong of Harviell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
