He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Thomas and Francis Esther Gourley Lawler. He is survived by: his wife Maxona Groce; his siblings, Judy Cochran (Marvin) of Lebanon, Missouri, Bonnie Cowden (Richard) of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Howard Lawler of Rogersville, Missouri; his siblings-in-law, Charles Groce of Bovey, A. O. Groce (Brenda) of Lebanon, Missouri and Joyce Lindsey (David) of Austin, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Ann, Elaine, Valerie, Holly, Amy, Alyssa, Ronda, Richard, Anthony and Rachel; and his close friends, Charlie Brown, Vera, Art, Shirley, Jack and Donna.
A memorial has been established to the Eagle Spirit Scholarship Fund or the Hartville Veteran's Group.
