She was predeceased by: her mother Violet Tarpey (Lowe); her husband Bill Maxon (Bill); her father William Tarpey; and her brother Paul Tarpey. She is survived by: her siblings, Richard Tarpey and Martha Waters of Pawnee, Oklahoma; her children, Sophia Smither (Richard) of Harrisonville and William Maxon (Chellie) of Lee's Summit; her grandchildren, Kerry Morgan (Casey), Ryan Smither (Brandie), Shayne Smither, Curtis Maxon and Ben Maxon; and her great grandchildren, Colton, Sarah, Liam and Lucy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Week of Compassion by writing a check to First Christian Church, Harrisonville, MO and putting "Mabel Maxon—Week of Compassion" in the memo line.
