He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber A. Hoover and Blanche Fern Hoover (Smith); his daughter Cindy Ann Lane; and his brothers, David Wayne Hoover and Harry Hoover.
He is survived by: his former wife Frances A. Oldham; his children, Robin Ray Hoover (Diana) of Lee's Summit, Ronald Dean Hoover (Tracy) of Peculiar, Missouri and Donita Sue Hoenshell (Terry) of Peculiar, Missouri; and his siblings, Joseph Calvin Hoover (Sandy) and Linda Faye Hoover-Maskus (Richard). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
