She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Daniel Cook and Edith Cook (Snider); her husband Tom Carter; her children, Phillip Carter (Karen Ann) and Susan Phillips (Mike); her grandchildren, Rachel Phillips (Joe Miller), Samuel Phillips, Pamela Dye and Christina Spellman; her sister Pat Morgan (Ed); and her nephew Dan Morgan (Kris) of St. Petersburg, Florida. She was also cherished by other relatives and many friends.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Harrisonville, Missouri.
