She was predeceased by: her parents, Verner Meier and Mildred Meier (Doelling); her husband Paul "Roy" Schmidt of Norborne; and her stepgrandson Paul Ryan Schmidt. She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Newham (Kent) of Hardin, Tammy Summers (Scott) of Richmond and Pam King of Mission, KS; her stepson Eric Paul Schmidt (Jan) of Arizona; her grandchildren, Eric Heil (Melissa), Angie Steele (Brad), Reanna Vandiver (Jake), Taryn Waters (Micah), Reid Summers, Matthew Ross and Cydney (Daniel); her stepgrandchildren, Hans Schmidt and Heather Gianan (Jason); her great grandchildren, Brett Heil, Clara Heil, James Earl, Macki Steele, Lochlan Steele, Hazel Waters, Fern Waters and Breck Vandiver; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Amelia Gianan and Zoey Gianan; and her daughter Barbara.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Hardin First Baptist Church.
