He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Akright and C. Alberta Akright (Menger); and his siblings, Edward, George, Don Akright and Lou Yates (Akright).
He is survived by: his wife Carla Staley; his children, Karin E. Baughman (Chuck) of Carl Junction, MO, Todd S. Akright (Jan) of Perry, MO, Brett R. Akright (MIndy) of Kansas City, MO, Matthew M. Akright (Kristen) of Hannibal, MO and Anne K. Rost (Jonathan) of Jefferson City, MO; his grandchildren, Zachary Baughman, John Baughman (Allie), Jill Akright, Haley Akright-Ayers (Drew), Joshua Akright (Brittany), Caleb Akright, Elizabeth Akright, Nathanael Akright, Ellyn Akright, Gage Akright, Briley Akright, Matalin Rost and Anna-Kate Rost; and his siblings, Gerald Akright (Barb), Mary McKay (Raymond) and Sharon Lovelace (Jim). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Community Loving Care Hospice, or Missouri Right to Life, in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
