He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Hawkins Jones and Carl Hale; his brother Charles "Mark" Hawkins; and his friend Christy Maupin Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Margarete; his siblings, Valerie Shaw, Dr. Margaret Hale-Smith, Matthew Hawkins (Georgia), Harry Perkins, Michael Hale (Toni) and Carl Eric Hale (Tracy); his aunts, Dorothy McElroy and Vernie Robbins; and his friends, Joel Dant, Stanley Clark, Richard Stallings, Lionel Williams, Ronald Stewart and Brenda Thompson. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 11 nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Due to international travel and gathering restrictions related to the corona virus, memorial services were delayed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or to Hannibal's Willow Street Christian Church.
