He was predeceased by: his father Larry E. Stephens; his grandparents, Louis, Elva Stephens, Roy and Dorothy Garner; and his stepgrandfather Joe Bush.
He is survived by: his mother Connie J. Garner Stephens of Hannibal, MO; his sister Stacy Papachrisanthou (George) of Millstadt, IL; his aunt Faye Bleigh (David) of Hannibal, MO; his uncle Jack Stephens (Georgia) of Shawnee, KS; his nephews, Michael and Matthew Papachrisanthou; and his cousins, Kim Jackson (Tony), John Stephens (Michelle), Jolynn Parker (Matt), Bridget Bleigh-Bouyea (Mark) and Betsy Bleigh-Divers (Jeremy).
